01About these terms
These terms apply to the plumbing, boiler and heating services Bolt Plumbing Services Inc. (“Bolt”, “we”, “us”) provides, and to this website. Bolt serves residential and commercial buildings in New York.
By booking service, approving an estimate, paying an invoice or using this website, you agree to these terms. If a signed agreement or your account has different written terms, those written terms apply where they differ.
02Estimates and invoices
An estimate is our best price for the work described in it. Unless it says otherwise, an estimate is good for 30 days.
If we find that more work or parts are needed than the estimate covers, we will tell you first. We do not do work beyond the estimate without your OK.
Your final invoice shows the work actually done, the parts used and any approved changes.
03Payment
Payment is due when you receive the invoice, unless your account has other payment terms in writing.
We accept:
- Credit or debit card
- ACH / bank transfer
- Check
- Zelle
A card fee of up to 3% applies to credit card payments only. There is never a fee on debit cards. The fee is never more than what our payment processor charges us, and it is shown to you before you pay. Paying by ACH, check or Zelle has no fee.
04Commercial accounts and cards on file
Commercial customers can keep a card or bank account on file through their online account page. Payment details are stored by our payment processor, Stripe. Bolt never sees or stores your full card number.
A saved payment method is charged only for invoices on your account, under your account’s payment terms.
05Scheduling and access
You agree to give our technicians safe access to the work area at the scheduled time, including any building permission, keys or escorts needed.
Some work requires shutting off water, gas or heat. Please help us coordinate shut-offs with the building, the super or management, and other occupants who may be affected.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call or text us as early as you can. If we arrive for a scheduled appointment and can’t get access, or the appointment is missed without notice, we may charge for the trip.
Sometimes we have to move an appointment, for example because of an emergency or a delay getting parts. If that happens, we will contact you as soon as we can to find a new time.
If we find an unsafe condition, such as a gas leak, we may need to shut off service and notify the utility or authorities as the law requires.
06Warranty
Parts and equipment carry the manufacturer’s warranty. Bolt’s own workmanship warranty is only what is stated on your invoice. If your invoice doesn’t state one, no separate workmanship warranty applies beyond what New York law requires.
Warranties don’t cover damage from misuse, freezing, outside repairs or alterations, or conditions we didn’t work on.
07Existing conditions and hidden damage
Bolt is not responsible for conditions that existed before our work, or for damage from hidden conditions we could not reasonably see, such as corroded or worn piping, old valves that fail when operated, or problems inside walls, floors, ceilings or underground.
Sometimes walls or ceilings must be opened to reach pipes. Restoring finishes like plaster, tile or paint is not included unless your estimate says so.
08Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent New York law allows, Bolt’s total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. Bolt is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost rent, lost business or lost use of property.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New York law.
09Certificates of insurance
Bolt carries business insurance. We issue certificates of insurance on request for scheduled jobs. Email office@boltps.com with the certificate holder’s details and any sample certificate from your building.
10Text messages and calls
We text you only if you agree to it, for example by checking “Text me about this request” on our request form, or by asking us to text you. Those texts are about your service requests and jobs: replies to your request, appointment confirmations and reminders, technician on-the-way notices, estimates, invoice links and payment receipts.
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at (347) 920-0978 or office@boltps.com.
Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. We do not send marketing texts. We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text opt-in data with third parties for their marketing. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We may also call you at the number you give us about your request or job. How we handle your phone number is described in our Privacy Policy.
